Terms & Conditions

Prior to any grooming, it is important that I know all about your pet's needs, temperament and any existing health issues.  This is so I can provide a service totally personalised to your dog's requirements.

You will, therefore, be required to complete a Grooming Contract. All data is held securely and not shared with any other person or business.

Bookings

If it is your first, please contact me to arrange your appointment so as we can discuss your requirements and allocate the appropriate time slot.

I very rarely have last minute appointments available, but do operate a cancellation waiting list.

To avoid disappointment, I recommend that you book your dog’s next appointment when you collect your dog after its groom. It is also possible to book your regular appointments up to a year in advance.

Regular visits are essential in keeping your dog's nails, coat and skin in tip-top condition!

I am afraid I do not offer walk-in appointments.

Your dog's health and welfare
Your dog' health and welfare is always my primary concern.

I will only ever groom your dog according to it’s tolerance of the process. If your dog becomes stressed, anxious of fearful during any of the grooming process, I will work around this as much as possible using different calming strategies, rest breaks etc.  If, however, I feel that your dog is becoming seriously distressed, I will halt the groom and request you collect your dog.

Occasionally during grooming a pre-existing condition may be discovered which you may not have been aware of. I will notify you of this so that you can seek veterinary advice.

Although extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming. If, in the event of an accident or serious medical issue arising during your pet’s groom,  your authorisation for me to seek emergency veterinary treatment is required.

PRICING

Prices are based on the breed, size, coat condition and temperament.

Additional costs may be incurred if:

  • your dog's coat is matted, poorly maintained &/or overgrown

  • your dog is difficult to manage or uncooperative during grooming

  • your dog requires extra time, frequent breaks or special handling due to being anxious or nervous

  • your dog has fleas - the groom may not be completed, and an additional charge of £15 will be made for the cabin to be flea-bombed

If I am unable to complete a groom due to your dog becoming very stressed or aggressive, you will be charged the full price of the groom.

All costs are payable in full when you collect your dog.

Time keeping

Most grooms take between 1 – 3 hours depending on the size and temperament of the dog, and its coat condition. You will be advised what time to collect your pet when you drop it off.

At collection, I kindly ask you to wait outside as your presence may distract your dog during the finishing stage of its groom.

Please drop off and collect your pet at the agreed time.  Please phone if you are running late. I understand that from time to time unforeseen circumstances may arise and you may need extra 5-10 minutes to get to the cabin. If, however, you arrive more than 15 minutes after your allocated time, you may be requested to re-book as this will have an impact on the next appointment.

Once the groom is finished your dog will be eager to go home and may become unsettled or anxious if they are left waiting for too long.  Late collections will incur an extra charge of £5 every 15 minutes or part of.

If you incur any of the above mentioned fees, they are payable in full at the time you collect your pet.

Cancellations, No-shows & Late Arrivals

I respectfully request 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your dog’s appointment so as I have the chance to fill the appointmet.

Please ensure you take all precautions not to miss your appointment.

Late cancellation and missed appointments will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to 100% of the groom price, which will need to be paid in full before further appointments can be booked.

If you arrive late for your appointment, you may be asked to re-schedule and the cancellation fee will apply.

If you consistently miss appointments, refuse to pay the cancellation fee, or arrive late on a number of occasions, I may refuse to book in any future appointments and remove your details from our records.

Neglected & Matted Coats

Severely matted dogs will be shaved off for their care and well-being.

De-matting is not included in the price of the grooms.  There will be an extra charge of between £15 and £30 depending on time spent de-matting.

The cost contributes towards the extra time and the wear caused to my grooming tools and equipment.

Aggressive Dogs - The Dangerous Dogs Act

I reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog at risk of harming me or itself due to aggression.

It is very important to inform me prior to your appointment if your dog has any aggressive tendencies when being handled. Failure to disclose this information may result in refusal of further services.

If during a groom your dog displays aggression that I have not been informed of, the groom will be terminated immediately. You will be contacted to collect your dog. The full price of the groom will be required.

Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act, which holds owners liable for bites and injuries caused by their dogs.
